• As part of the Financial Accounting team, the role will be varied and will be primarily across financial accounts, management accounts, year-end, Tax and VAT reporting requirements. • Responsible for multiple Head-Office departments and overheads including Property, Rent & Rates, Electricity & Gas, Insurance, IT and more • Provide commentary for monthly managements accounts pack in those areas • Business Partner with senior management and leaders within the business such as CFO / Head of Finance / IT Director • Work closely with Commercial finance team and provide technical support where necessary • Perform monthly balance sheet and control account reconciliations • Manage, review and support the VAT Analyst • Play a key role in planning and delivering the year end audit • Assisting with the preparation of the annual accounts under FRS 102 (Company and Group) • Lead the annual store impairment review and onerous lease calculations • Prepare and submit Branch Accounts (Jersey, Guernsey & Belgium) • Prepare and submit local GAAP accounts for German entity • Manage and mentor the VAT Analyst who is responsible for the completion of multiple International VAT returns, EC sales and intrastat submission due monthly and quarterly throughout the year • Build relationships with outsourced team who prepares various International VAT Returns • Responsible for ensuring all deadlines are met • Assist the Senior Financial Accounting Manager with year-end tax compliance and tax accounts
• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with relevant 2+ years PQE experience • Managerial experience (essential) • Financial accounting experience within Industry (essential) • Audit background (preferable) • Retail and B2C international experience (preferable) • Business partnering – apply financial knowledge to commercial and operational areas • Organised – to ensure deadlines are met and expectations are managed • Communication – clear and concise communication with colleagues at all levels • Relationship building – develop effective relationships that help drive business success, particularly with non-finance stakeholders • Resilience – the ability to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced and busy retail environment • Results focused – deliver accurate work to completion in a planned and controlled manner • IT skills – ability to navigate and understand accounting systems and intermediate-advanced Excel skills.
