Description

• Reporting to the Director of Tax • Manage VAT compliance for the FT’s UK VAT Group • Manage compliance for various overseas VAT/GST/Sales Tax registrations • Manage outsourced compliance provider • Actively monitor global indirect tax registration and filing requirements • Manage various tax systems issues • Manage queries from HMRC and other tax authorities • Provide indirect tax support to the business • Liaising with the FT Finance team on indirect tax accounting issues • Review and sign off balance sheet reconciliations • Management responsibility for an Indirect Tax Assistant Manager and Analyst • Undertake ad-hoc duties and projects

Requirements

• Sound knowledge of UK VAT legislation and EU VAT Directives • Sound knowledge of international indirect tax, including US Sales Tax • Sounds knowledge of B2C Electronically Supplied Services VAT and Digital Services Taxes • Sound understanding of indirect tax accounting, including general ledger journals • Strong Excel and data analysis skills • Relevant accounting or tax qualification desired (but not essential) • Experience of tax systems, especially Oracle Fusion and/or Vertex desired (but not essential) • Resourceful, practical, able to handle ambiguity, resilient, able to function effectively under pressure • Excellent organisational skills and active approach to risk management processes and controls.
