Description
• We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (VP) to join our Engineering team in London. This role is focused on maintaining and enhancing our proprietary big data technologies, database abstraction layer and dynamic code generation systems, all of which provide the foundations for our best-in-class surveillance and analytics solutions. Alongside hands-on development, you will be the Co-Lead of our Runtime team, which involves managing and developing a small team of engineers. • Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of computers at the low level, including database engine design and parallel computing to create highly scalable computing power.
Requirements
• Significant software engineering ability using C# or another OOP language • A deep enthusiasm for computers and a fundamental understanding of how they work from the ground up • Happy to design from scratch using first principles as well as off-the-shelf technologies • Excellent task management and commercial prioritisation skills • Good understanding of multithreading principles e.g. memory management, parallel computing • Expertise with database technologies such as NoSQL, MongoDB etc. • Comfortable working on multiple fast-paced projects throughout their lifecycle, articulating key decisions and establishing best practices
