Description

• Advising insolvency practitioners (administrators/liquidators) on the VAT consequences of their intended actions during an insolvency process; • Advising companies, lenders and other stakeholders on the VAT implications of complex restructuring processes including fast track share, property and business disposals; • Liaising with HMRC on a wide range of technical and compliance queries for insolvency appointments; • Responding to day-to-day VAT queries from internal restructuring business units; • Preparing VAT reports and other deliverables and advising on the submission of appropriate returns or other documentation to tax authorities; • Supporting the business development activities of the team (you will have a broad scope to build relationships both internally and externally); • Contributing to the technical development of the wider restructuring business through design and delivery of training;  • Work collaboratively with the wider restructuring team and wider tax team to enhance processes, controls and efficiencies; • Preparation of indirect tax thought pieces with the support of the wider tax team.

Requirements

• CTA or equivalent qualification preferred • Strong UK VAT technical skills • Strong communication, team playing and project management skills; and • The ability to perform strongly under pressure. • Prior experience of transactions or insolvency processes is preferred but not essential.
