Description

• Working with Chief Legal Officer and Chief Finance Officer to ensure compliance with legal standards and internal policies. • Providing guidance on compliance and data protection matters. • Developing and overseeing control systems to prevent violations of legal guidelines and internal policies. • Ensuring adherence to GDPR and other data protection laws.

Requirements

• 4-6 years proven experience as a DPO and/or Compliance Manager, focusing on GDPR and data protection. • In-depth knowledge of the industry’s standards and regulations including GDPR and all applicable US data protection and privacy laws and regulations, especially California, New York & Florida. • Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping. • Experience developing policy and compliance training. • A business acumen, and practical outlook and approach. • Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities. • An analytical mind able to “see” the complexities of procedures and regulations. • Well-developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm. • Strong change and project management skills, including the ability to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines. • Ability to undertake large, long-term projects, develop alternative methods to complete them, and implement solutions. • Ability to use independent judgment and discretion when making majority of decisions. • Detail-oriented approach to recommend and implement strategic improvements on a range of data privacy and data protection issues. • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion. • BSc/BA in law, finance, business administration or related field. • Certified compliance professional is a plus.
