• Accountable for all compliant bookkeeping (routine, complex and judgmental) and statutory and regulatory reporting and legal entity stewardship for all locations. • Review of complex statutory accounts including group consolidation. • Responsibility for integrity of group financial reporting and recording in the ledger. • Assessment of judgmental accounting issues and disclosures. • Key point of contact with external auditors and internal stakeholders (including tax, companies’ office, regulatory and statistical). • Group Treasury/Cash representative including ownership of Group loan relationships, assessment and coordination of Group repatriation planning and working capital funding with the Group function. • Responsible for in country tax compliance activities and risk management, with a dotted line responsibility for all Group tax issues. • Mergers, acquisitions and disposals key business partner. • Group finance lead for larger deals and support subordinates on smaller deals. • Performing financial due diligence, reviewing legal documents and planning finance process and system integrations. • Group finance lead for legal entity restructuring projects including working with external advisors on judgmental issues and coordination with local finance teams and global accounting. • Lead for Group contributions to global system implementations & changes. • Process improvement projects and promoting best practice that can be shared globally. • Identification and communication of risk management issues. • Subject matter expert for regional financial accounting matters. • Mentoring and coaching of direct and indirect reports. • Provide support/back up to divisional controllers and international finance issues/projects. • Group oversight for Procure to Pay, travel and entertainment expense processing, outsourced accounting activities and payroll activities. • Working closely with the Group FP&A team, providing insight and input into the results/estimate/budget for the specific office/region, along with the link to the Department Heads and Senior Managers.
• You will have extensive experience in a Group Financial Controller or similar role. • You will be a qualified (preferably Chartered) accountant. • You will have strong technical accounting skills, thorough knowledge of UK GAAP essential and good IFRS knowledge. • You will have M&A experience with a thorough understanding of M&A integration and how to manage expectations from shareholders. • You will have people management experience with strong leadership abilities including talent identification and development of others. • You will have experience of remote management with the ability to understand all global cultures and adapt appropriately. • You have the ability to work effectively within a matrix structure; in particular to deliver results from dotted line management. • You will have knowledge and experience to bring solutions, exercise professional judgment and initiative. • You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation.
