• The Platform Engineer is responsible for building, automating, and scaling Taptap’s cloud infrastructure, including AWS services, critical IT services, and the systems Taptap uses to monitor and operate its systems. • The ideal candidate for this role loves writing python and using docker and terraform to automate cloud infrastructure, enjoys the challenge of optimizing for cost and scale, and is happy in an environment of continuous improvement and growth. • Own and mature Taptap Send cloud infrastructure for improved cost effectiveness, reliability, and scalability. • Drive Taptap Send infrastructure as code projects and architecture including improving and remediating to make IaaC at Taptap Send more modular and maintainable. • Work with other engineering teams to assure optimal operation of Taptap Send’s systems including responding to large-scale incidents and other day to day operational responsibilities • Assure effective integration between Taptap Send’s cloud environment and core IT systems • Participate in the Taptap Send service reliability process
• Hands-on cloud experience, especially in AWS. AWS certification preferred. • Hands-on experience developing scalable, modular infrastructure as code projects using tools like Terraform, Cloudformation, and Ansible • Fundamental knowledge of cloud networking • Hands-on experience with Docker and container schedulers including AWS ECS & EKS, Kubernetes, Mesos/Marathon, or Docker Enterprise. • Familiarity with industry leading CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, BitBucket Pipelines, CircleCI, BuildKite, etc. • Familiarity with industry leading monitoring tools, like Datadog, Honeycomb.io, or Grafana • Experience with hands-on software engineering as part of a larger team or project (open-source experience acceptable) • Experience programming in Python. Other systems programming experience (examples: Java, Kotlin, Scala, Clojure) a plus • Experience administering or integrating with identity management systems for SSO, including AWS IAM, Okta, Active Directory • Degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar field; a Master’s is a plus or seven years' equivalent experience
