• The Senior Data Analytics Engineer will act as the subject matter expert for any technical development in DBT, Snowflake or Looker. They will own these platforms, ensuring that any code changes and new features are built in a sustainable way and without contributing to tech debt\n• Data Analytics Engineers will be required to form a deep understanding of our more holistic Data Platform to enable safe work on wider parts of the data stack.\n• The Senior Data Analytics Engineer will partner closely with the analysts, holding them accountable to following best practice when working with these systems. They will view these tools/platforms holistically, designing a longer term strategy for how they can provide the most value to the business. Their success will be measured by the increase in analyst’s efficiency - whether this is achieved through better self-service by stakeholders or easier to analyse datasets.\n• Championing the best practices within the data engineering domain with an emphasis on data quality, governance and a healthy data culture.
• You have commercial experience working on production ETLs (big data and data warehousing) and data modelling as a developer or an analyst.\n• Deep understanding of Snowflake and its architecture.\n• You have a deep understanding of SQL and data modelling.\n• You are comfortable with general Data Warehousing concepts.\n• You have experience with DBT.\n• You have experience with Looker or similar data exploration and BI tooling.\n• You proactively identify issues and opportunities that can improve work in your domain and beyond.\n• You have experience building robust and reliable data sets requiring a high attention to detail and consideration for data quality.\n• You have experience working closely with (or as) an analyst/s and have collaborated effectively with them.
