This key position and challenging role of the Engineering Manager/Technical Lead reports directly to the Account Manager. Deputising in Account Managers absence, you will be key stakeholder of the MEP operational delivery within the Critical Facility & Data Centre. The Engineering Manager/Technical Lead will have direct line management responsibility for the day and shift engineering team and is accountable for the effective people management of this team on the account. As the post holder, you will be expected to have a detailed technical understanding of all installed MEP systems, contingency procedures and be proactive in coaching other members of your team to ensure capability is consistent within the team. The Engineering Manager/Technical Lead will also be expected to become familiar with all aspects of the administrative requirements of the Millennium London contract and Integral/JLL process & procedures. Working closely with the engineering team the Engineering Manager/Technical Lead will be responsible for the delivery of all day-to-day critical asset & System management, including supporting site FMs with projects and contractors, planned and reactive MEP works and act as the technical support function for the team during these works. The Engineering Manager/Technical Lead will provide robust leadership of the team, motivating and driving the team to exceed expectations in customer service and operational excellence. You will ensure that the conduct of any personnel under your control is safe, professional and conscientious. You will also be required to attend site meetings with the client and on behalf of the client as requested. Driving a Health and Safety lead culture throughout the team on the account, with your experience and knowledge of safe systems of works and compliance. Working closely with the Account Manager and Millennium UK & USA team members to achieve 100% Critical Facilities Uptime. The Engineering Manager/Technical Lead will be responsible in ensure that the engineering teams work together to achieve the required standards of Critical Facilities Risk Management and Operational Compliance.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Critical Environments such as Banking HQ and Data Centres. Electrical/Mechanical Engineering HNC or HND (Successfully completed apprenticeship in either) C&G Pts. 1 & 2, equivalent or exceeds. 18th Edition IEE: Wiring and Installation. C&G 2391 test and inspection; BS 7671:2001 for inspection, testing and certification. Strong communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of staff. Ability to lead, motivate and direct a small team of engineers and supervisors. Proactive in achieving the highest standard of operation. Have good IT and report writing skills. Ability to work under pressure whilst remaining calm, clear thinking and able to deliver the required services to the client within given time constraints. Individuals who can demonstrate commitment and previous experience; but not meet all the required technical qualifications may be considered subject to Operations Directors approval. Demonstrate a willingness to attend on and off-site training for MEP assets, this may require nights away from home due to the nature of the specialist training such as HV Authorised Person Training. A high level of initiative, with drive to continuously improve the operation. A smart presentable corporate appearance. Advanced communication skills with a full understanding of customer needs & expectations. Ability to comprehend and act upon both verbal and written instructions. Enthusiasm and demonstration of pro-activity, diligence, and alertness, with the willingness to participate in appropriate internal training programmes. Integrity, honesty, and punctuality is also expected.
